Felt in love with Hoi An
Our hotel in Hoi An was a bit more expensive than we used to travel before. There is no actual reason beside we can afford it and we love getting spoiled. The beach view from our nice room with the balcony was one thing, the other part was certainly chilling in swimming pool with the beach just in front. If you are bored of the pool of course there is this marvelous beach without a lot of people. Some tiny waves sometimes appeared, but this still doesn’t make us believing that you cam actual,y surf on that beach.(they offered surf rentals though)
The food at the hotel was rather pricy. Because we didn’t get any food on the jetstar flight and our dinner appointment was only at half past 8, stil, decided to get some 4 small spring rolls for appetizer. It costs 100 VND. (for this money you can get 3 times PHO – noodles with beef on a streetfood restaurant) i don’t want to complain and of course we can afford almost everything, but still it feels a little bit of a rip off.
In the evening we met my collegue Philippe, who was currently on his honeymoon with Mel. The hotel shuttle brought us to the old town of Hoi An. I immeditely like this city. There was not so much traffic like in Hanoi – there were even some streets were only pedestrians are allowed to pass by. The little shops on the sides, the cute restaurants on the other side of the river, the tailors evrywhere. The other night we saw some teens breakdancing – Somehow i like the vibe of this city.
Sorry, to mention again the food but …. It was so delicious. One of the local dishes of Hoi An was Ban Xeo – the kind of omelette with soja beans and different kind of salad, mint etc. Mmmmhhh….. This is a place where i want to come back again!
