Since, we ate so much and so many different things in Ljubliana I want to share our experience:

Breakfast places:
Slovenska Hisa – Slovenian Café:
Breakfast here is for free if you order any drinks.
Nice bread with a nice variety of jam and honey.
They have also amazing plates to share with cheese, ham and other surprises.

Le petit café
This is probably one of the most famous breakfast places.
A lot of people recommended us, so we tested it.
If you like egg-dishes for your breakfast you will love this place.
If you like it a bit chill- and relax you probably don’t like this place.
It is quite busy,  waiters running around etc.

other cafés 

The Prince of Orange
A cute little café, where you HAVE TO GO and try the amazing Apfelstrudel. It is like a dream!
No additional comments needed.

Ziferblat 
This is an experience on a different kind.
They describe it as your extended living room,  as you already see in the decoration
Everything what you eat and drink is for free.
The only thing you need to pay, is the time. Additionally, you have to make your coffee, tea and pancake yourself.
Also washing the dishes is your duty.
A little alternative way of a café, some like it, some are just lazy 😉

Eating places 
Tozd
A very fancy little restaurant/café near the river for some good soups.
Also the cakes looked mouthwatering.
Amazing interior and lovely people.

Repete Jazz Restaurant
You probably won’t come across this restaurant by accident. It is a bit hidden, but certainly worthwhile having a pumpkin gnocchi with sage, carniola sausages and a slovenian brewed tektonik white beer.

Compa Restaurant
This is a very popular restaurant among locals and tourists.
It is always packed, so better make a reservation if you want to dine here.
We had just a cold platter, good bread and red wine, which was fantastic.

Kralj Zara BBQ Restaurant
This was probably my highlight from the whole weekend.
There are no words for this fantastic steak we had there.
It was truly a -i am in heaven meal-

Sushimama
You think we ate already a lot – HA! The most we probably ate here at Sushimama.
Up to 3 dishes in the afternoon, just because we loved the sushi, green tea, udon noodle soup and the wagyu beef.
It is also right in the center.

Drinking places
We do not have favorite drinking place in Ljubljana.
Our recommendation if its cold, just go to the river and enjoy a “glühwein”
