Yes, it has been 15 years, since I went last time to Mallorca. Probably one of my first holidays with a friend.
I came back with a Tattoo and I was not even so drunk. However, I do not remember so much anymore from these holidays back when i was a teenager 🙂
This time, we booked a longer weekend-trip quite spontanously. Fabienne and me did not really investigated too much, and just booked a flight and a Hotel. We had no idea, where we need to go or what we can do 🙂 So, we found out our hotel was in Sa Coma at the eastcoast of Mallorca. When we arrived, it was already late and there was only one restaurant open at this time. We were excited about getting a nice spanish tortilla and a yummie sangria next to the beach. Well it was a bit different – we were in a restaurant, where the food was not really Spanish and old Germans were dancing to “Summer of 69” and “Hol das Lasso raus!” wow – where are we? ;-D
On the next day, we had some more time to check where we need to go, because we just did not want to go back to this place!! With the bus it was quite cheap to get to Cala Ratjada, where we followed the TripAdvisor recommendations. And it was worth it: EUPHORIA – they had fantastic tapas and drinks. That’s how we expected Mallorca: Classic Aperetivo, some tapas and blinded from the sun. After few more drinks, we decided to dive into the nightlife of Cala Ratjada. It was like 15 years back: everyone dancing, singing and drinking 1,3 liters buckets of very cheap alcohol. We made many jokes and testing the people. The joke about being Swedish actually did not work out because the guy was talking in Swedish to Fabienne later. Obviously, we did not understand anything 😀 The night ended with funny conversations in Spanish with our taxi driver. The second night, was more or less similiar. However, this time we also knew the lyrics of these Songs. (which is also not that difficult)
So yes … these were our nights. But then you might ask yourself. What did the girl do during the day? We had quite a programm to follow: We went to Zumba (which was quite exhausting), we walked a lot, we spent some hours on the pool and the beach. Important as well, thinking about another amazing dinner at Euphoria 😉
On Sunday, we also rented a car (Fiat Panda) and drove along the coast up north. We stopped at some beaches and were shocked again about the youngers bringing so much alcohol to the beach and start drinking in the middle of the day. I mean, Fabienne and me at least started always after 4! What a beautiful island – Next time I really want to go cycling or playing tennis. Maybe that is more appropriate to our age than partying…
On Monday, our plane was schedulded for around 8 AM – so the hotel asked us if we want a “wake-up-call” The shuttle bus will be coming at 4.30 in the morning. wtF? We said, we will be alright waking up with our cellphones. Yes, that what we thought but somehow did not work out. The alarm did not go off, and we missed our bus to the airport. It is still a mystery why the iPhone alarm did not go off. The good thing, we were able to hop-on on another bus. All good – we did not miss the plane and call this brilliant timemanagement.
Very nice weeekend.
Summary:
We are not too old for partying
Euphoria is the best place for dinner, drinking
