Worthwile journey to Bocas del Toro/Panama

Buenos Dias,
I am writing this Blog in the middle of the night. Why? I come to this part later.

So, the journey to Panama is quite long. However, i must say i am positively surprised by United Airline. I was not only able to sleep (maybe also thanks to my superpill) but also the food was acceptable. Two different plance brought me to Newark and afterwards to Panama City. I met my friends in New York since they were flying from Geneva.

Happily arrived in Panama City we just wanted sleep. The “taxista” toom advantage of that and earned a fortune from us. Our prebooked hostel was very nice and the owner showed us around. The breakfast was veeery delicious. I was already hungry during the night, so i was even more delighted to see a fruitsalad, bruschettas, bread with ham and cheese, tea ….. Amazing!

The next challenge was ‘getting a taxi who brings us to the domestic airport’
With my excellent spanish (this is a joke) we got one and we started driving. Having a look on our offline map it shows us, he was on the way to the international airport where we have landed the other day. So again we drove through whole panama city to get to the aeropuerto doméstico. Fairly disappointed of my first spanish approach we still made it on time. Tiny but very modern airport. Thr plane took 1 hour until we arrived on our first destination: Bocas del Toro.

We made a reservation on the probably most famous partyhostel in Panama:Mondo Taitu.
We got a nice room for 4 people, seems nice… After checking in we pleased ourself with a cocktail next to the sea. At this point i understood thats all about strong and cheap drinks on this island.

Later we took a taxi to the Starfish Beach, or i Spanish: playa estrella. It was very calm, not so many people and the bright yellowish starfish in the sea. Wonderful place. You can also imagine the carribean sea with around 28 degrees…. It was slready worthwile coming here. We found also a nice restaurants, where we had a good snack. The ower, ricardo, was very talkactive and told us a lot about the chickita bananas etc.

The night can be told quickiy. We had a very delicious “pescado” for dinner and than we were sooo tired. We went to bed, whearas the other people from the partyhostel obvioisuly did party. All night long. I regognized i am just too old for this shit 😉 thats why i had plenty of time this night for blogging, reading about our next destination and of course to find a new hostel.

Read from me soon. Hasta a la proxima
