There are more convenient ways of travel…. Than in a Sleeper Bus in Vietnam
As you probably reconized in the title we didnt have so much fun on the journey from Hoi An to Nha Trang. I don’t want to point it out straight away that it was horrible, as most of the bloggers already did (yes, i browsed through the Internet after booking the bus, and a lot bloggers wrote how terrible this journey was)
Anyway, the actual plan was to go to Nha Trang by Train. The two uf us, as always very spontanously, thought we can go just day after we have definitely decided…. This was of course bullshit, and we had to take the Sleeper Bus. Sleeping Bus, should mean you can sleep, right? Tourist Bus is usually comfortable, right? Well, and that is what we have experienced:
The Bus came one hour late, which I dont care much – who is as punctual as the Swiss? But we really got the worst seats ever in this Bus. Usually in every row there were 4 people, two on the top, and two on the buttom. However, we got the seats at the end of the Bus, 5 on the bottom, 5 on the top. And we got these crappy seats below. It was hardly possible to seat, because it was so narrow, i didnt know where to place my arms. But worse was, it was hardly possible to breathe. It was so hot- we couldnt feel anything of the aircondition. In this moment, i hated travelling in Vietnam. The first hour we were standing in the aile, at least there it was possible to get some cold air.
The next two hours i was listening to Music and maybe i slept a while, Wischiro took the ‘mattress’ and was gaming in the aile. At around 2 AM, the bus stopped. Most of the people were sleeping and didnt recongize it so far, but there was something wrong. We went out, and the Vietnamese driver just said it is broken, and too dark to repair. The next Bus is coming at 3 PM. Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME? They made a fire in front and on the back of the Bus, to sign that we have a bus which is not driving anymore. The guys just kept themselve busy, finding more wood to lighten up the fire, in the middle of the street. So, to summarize – it was i the middle of the night, we were in the middle of nowhere, and we slowly run out of water. Sleeping in the Bus was no option at all anymore. Most of the other backpackers also came out, once they recognized that the aircondition was not working anymore. We took our matress, blankets and pillow outside. Oh…. And that was the time i felt asleep. Of course it came worse – it was raning like hell and we had to go inside 🙁
At around 6 AM a bus arrived. Of course not a Sleeper Bus. But we didnt care anymore. We just wanted to go to Nha Trang – soon! This bus was also very old and it was quite hot inside. We arrived in Nha Trang at around 3 PM, instead of 6 AM.
I was so glad when we arrived in our nice guesthouse VICKY
