Manaus – the city in the jungle

Everything began quite nicely. We got picked up from the airport and brought to the hostel, which costs only 55 reis (not even 20 chf per person) therefore it was also a bit shady. Later we found also a rat in the kitchen, but hey thats just the beginning of the jungle… I wonder what we can expect in our three days adventure jungle tour.

We had lunch on the street for only 8 reis, and it was very good. Afterwards everything was like dead in the whole city. Okay its sunday but still. We expected more in the 2 million people city. So we went to this new shopping mall. It took us ages to catch the right bus… But we made it. We found out all people were obviously all there…

The way back was easy, we just took a taxi. It would have been a hassle taking again the bus without knowing exactly where we are staying.

Back in the hostel we founded it reay shady… No people around, not even somebody at the reception. Weird?! And then that rat … Aw! Anyway i really need to shower now. Thats gonna be fun… *yakkk*
